Texas Cities & Towns Starting with U

USS Texas has been named after the state of Texas. It consists of four United States Ship (USS) namely the 1892 USS Texas warship, the BB-35, the CGN-39, and the SSN-775. All of these battleships participated in some of the most significant naval battles of the 19th century, especially WWI and WWII. The BB-35 is a New York-class battleship that was launched in 1912 and was decommissioned in 1948, the time when it completed its final mission against Japan and the state of Texas has acquired the ship. BB-35 is the last remaining U.S. battleship of its kind; it is now a floating museum that is docked along the Houston Ship Channel, where it serves as a memorial not only to those who sacrificed their lives for the state, but also to those turbulent moments in general.
