Foard County is a county situated in the state of Texas and its county seat is Crowell which is also the only incorporated community set in the county. Robert Levi Foard was the reason the county is named this way. He served as a major with the Confederate Army during the American Civil War. The county legalized alcoholic beverage sales on the twenty-sixth of May 2006. The first post office that was established in the county was in Pease City in the year 1880. The county was officially organized on the third of March 1891.
