Fort Bend County is a county situated in the state of Texas. The county seat of Fort Bend County is Richmond, but the largest city of the county is Sugar Land. The county was founded in 1837 but was officially organized the following year. The county itself is named for a blockhouse that is situated at a bend of the Brazos River. The community was developing around the fort in its early days. Some of the top sights located in Fort Bend County are Brazos Bend State Park, George Ranch Historical Park, BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir, and Cullinan Park.
