Grimes County is a county situated in the southeastern part of the state of Texas. Anderson is the county seat of Grimes County. The town is named for a signer of the Texas Declaration of Independence, Jesse Grimes. He was also a European-American settler. San Jacinto River goes through the eastern part of the county and Brazos and Navasota go through the western part. The county was officially organized in 1846. Some of the top sights that you can notice in Grimes County are Texas Renaissance Festival Bernhardt Winery, Gibbons Creek Reservoir, and Fanthorp Inn State Historic.
