Hardeman County is a county situated in the state of Texas. Quanah is both the county seat and the largest city of the county. The county was named for two brothers, Bailey Hardeman and Thomas Jones Hardeman. They were early Texas politicians and legislators. The county was permitted to sell alcoholic beverages since November 2006. Some of the top sights and tourist attractions that are situated in Hardeman County are Copper Breaks State Park, Downtown Medicine Mound Museum, and Lake Pauline. The Copper Breaks State Park is operated by the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department.
