Kerr County is a county situated on the Edwards Plateau in the state of Texas. Kerrville is the county seat of Kerr County. Joshua D. Brown named the county for his fellow native from Kentucky James Kerr. James Kerr was also a congressman of the Republic of Texas. The county was initially founded in the year 1856. The first railroad that went through the town was the San Antonio and Aransas Pass Railway in the year 1887. Some of the top sights and tourist attractions situated in Kerr County are Stonehenge II, Museum of Western Art, Bending Branch Winery, and Louise Hays Park.
