The County of Lubbock, located north of the Texas state, was founded in 1851. It is one of the oldest, if not the oldest, occupied places in the United States that was named after Tom Saltus Lubbock, a Confederate officer and a former Texas Ranger. The county largely depended on the agricultural industry. It is home to the Lubbock Lake Site, the first archaeological site in Texas to be recorded on the National Register of Historic Places. In addition, as this county is also home to the famous musician Buddy Holly, a walk of fame, museum, and an annual music festival are also being showcased in this county to honor hailing musicians from this area. Furthermore, Lubbock County also offers a great variety of restaurants and wineries that serves outstanding wines, spirits, and food from barbecues and fries to Italian pizzas and pasta.
