The County of Martin, located in the west-central part of the Texas state, was established in 1876 and organized in 1884. It was named after Wylie Martin, one of the pioneer settlers in the area. This county largely depended on the production of cotton, corn, and small grains, along with the ranching of cattle, goats, and hogs. It also features historical sites and landmarks like the Martin County Museum and Connell House where you can explore artifacts that are carefully preserved since the beginning of its time. Furthermore, barbecue smokehouses, seafood houses, food trucks, cafés, Mexican and Mediterranean restaurants can all be found in this county. You can also enjoy beers, wines, and spirits now, as Martin County was approved to sell alcohol in 2018.
