The county of Nacogdoches, located east of the Texas state, was established in 1826 and organized in 1837. It was named after its county seat, the city of Nacogdoches, which was named after the tribe of Nacogdoches Indians who first settled in this area. This county has been economically dependent on its farming, ranching, manufacturing, and tourism industries; dairy, poultry, and beef cattle were its major agricultural products. It also features some interesting historical and recreational sites like the Old Stone Fort, Angelina National Forest, and the Sam Rayburn Reservoir. Furthermore, American, Italian, Asian, Mediterranean, and Tex-Mex restaurants serve the county of Nacogdoches.
