The county of Stonewall, located in the north-western of the Texas state, was established in 1876 and organized in 1888. It was named after Stonewall Jackson, general of the Confederate. This county has been economically dependent on its farming, ranching, and light fabrication industries; beef cattle, cotton, wheat, peanuts, grain sorghum, goats, and swine were its primary agricultural products. It also features historical sites, but this county is famous for its hunting recreation; deer, quail, feral hog, and turkey can all be hunted in this area. In addition, a livestock show is hosted every February, and rodeos are also held every September. Moreover, Italian pizzas and Tex-Mex food specialties are dominant in this county.
