The county of Titus, located in the north-eastern region of the Texas state, was established and organized in 1846. It was named after Andrew Jackson Titus, one of the pioneer settlers in the area. This county has been economically dependent on its farming, ranching, manufacturing, and electric power industries; poultry, beef cattle, horticulture, horses, and hay were its major agricultural products. It also features some historical and recreational sites from museums, houses, and courthouses, to the beautiful Lake Bob Sandlin and Monticello Reservoir. It is also home to annual celebrations like rodeos, jubilees, and outhouse races. Furthermore, you can find a wide variety of food in this county from traditional Tex-Mex specialties, to seafood, Asian, Italian, and Honduran delicacies.
