The county of Webb, located south of the Texas state, was established and organized in 1848. It was named after James Webb, an attorney general of the Republic. This county has been economically dependent on its hunting leases, manufacturing, international trade, oil, natural gas, government services, and tourism industries. It also features some of the best historical and recreational sites such as the Fort McIntosh, and the beautiful Lake Casa Blanca International State Park; this county is also known as a good hunting and fishing area. Its county seat is home to an entertainment and sports arena; it also hosts a Jalapeño Festival every February, and El Grito, a celebration of the Mexican Independence Day, every 15th of September. Furthermore, Mexican, Italian, and American restaurants are dominant in this area.
