Freestone County is a county situated in the state of Texas. The county seat of the county is Fairfield, and the largest city in the county is Teague. David G. Burnet received a grant from Coahulla y Tejas to settle around three hundred families in the area in 1826. The county was originally founded in the year 1850 but was organized the following year. Some of the top tourist attractions set in Freestone County are Fairfield Lake State Park, Richland Creek, and Freestone County Historical Museum.
