Natural Living is a certified non-GMO grocer and buyers club that is dedicated to local foods and artisans, offering produce shares weekly to its members. As much as possible, they source their produce from “local organic farms and backyard organic gardeners” as well as growing some of the food themselves. Aside from the weekly produce, Natural Living also offers “bulk dry goods and limited local goods” such as organic eggs, and meats. They have unique organic meats such as buffalo, elk, venison, wild boar, ostrich, antelope etc. Natural Living is also open to the public for everyday "shelf shopping” from their organic bulk dry goods and organic seasonings, spices, and medicinal herbs.
Nature's Garden Market & Cafe has been in Friendswood, Texas since 2001 and was one of the first health food stores and providers of organic products in the area. "Its comfortable, clean, smells amazing and there is so much to look at". "Also located inside is a cafe with fresh vegetable juices, fruit smoothies, homemade sandwiches, soups and salads". "This is a perfect place to go for a light healthy lunch or juice/smoothie". Plus "they also brew their own kombucha". Although "the prices tend to be higher than other places, but the food being offered is of higher quality". You will also "like how the menu lists the gluten-free options".
The Old Strand Emporium is the “longest running retail store on the Strand,” specializing in Texas foods and gift items since 1974. The Emporium offers fresh fudge, a deli, cold drinks and a “large assortment of imported and domestic beers and Texas wines.” They have over 170 different beers. The Emporium has all the feel of an “old-fashioned ice cream parlor and sandwich shop,” with candy bins, hard-to-find cooking goods and sauces, and more. You can grab a snack or sandwich, and head outside to one of the Emporium's comfortable, convenient outdoor tables and watch The Strand in action. Quite simply, The Emporium is a “Galveston institution” not to be missed. Amazing service, fresh food and the history of this place is fantastic!
