Cooley Bay Winery is the only Winery in the city of Van Alstyne and famous for its signature drink, "The Cooley", this winery is "located just a tad more than 40 miles directly north of Dallas (in the Texoma AVA), and immediately near its Highway 75 exit". They have "nice balance of traditional Texas wines as well as some lovely fruit wines". "Most of the menu is sweet wines" but even if "you don't like wines because they are bitter or taste nasty", relax and enjoy and give this "very laid back and relaxing" place a try. "You won't regret it". They have live music on the second and fourth Saturdays, and Cooley Craft Day on the first Sundays of each month.

"The atmosphere is laid back and casual". They also "have cottages to rent overnight with a loft for the kids". They currently have a "very small wine list, but the wines are delicious". "Great place for a relaxing glass of wine!" They also mentioned in their website that "two dollars of every bottle purchased will be donated to Alzheimer's Association". "They also have many different wines from around the world via the wines of the world program". You can also visit their other branches at Ivanhoe and Grapevine. "Lenoir-Sage Vineyards doesn't ship or distribute so if you want their wine you gotta go to Bells, Texas and get it". They are "about an hour to get to from Dallas". You will have a "very peaceful and relaxing" wine tasting "experience". "The owners" are "very friendly and didn't mind sharing their knowledge". This place established in 2002, was primarily an agricultural project, "their hobby" and it has grown to include a winery and a tasting room. You can call them for a tasting experience of "very good" wines such as the "Chardonnay" or the "Lenoir Rouge" and even the "white Merlot" which can become your "favorite" too.

Experience "very relaxing time walking among the grapevines" while "sitting outside with glass and watching the sunset over the pond" at the Square Cloud Winery. You will learn the story of "how Square Cloud came together" and how the grapes are "selected". The "winemaking education you get with the tasting is top-notch". They have a "nice selection of whites, reds and a dessert wine". Even those who are "usually sweet only wine drinkers" will be "impressed with all of them" and "you can actually taste the hints of flavors instead of the bitterness". This "little gem out around Gunter" is " just 30 minutes from Plano". They do not have a website but you can always give them a call and "set an appointment to visit".
