Guadalupe County is a county situated in the state of Texas. Seguin is the county seat of Guadalupe County and the largest city of the county is Schertz. The count was named for the Guadalupe River and was founded in 1846. Paleo-Indian hunter-gatherers were the first humans to have inhabited the lands thousands of years before the European colonization. The Guadalupe River was specifically named for Our Lady of Guadalupe by Alonso de Leon in 1689. Some of the top tourist attractions in Guadalupe County are Son’s Lake, ZDT’s Amusement Park, Magnolia Hotel, and Lake McQueeney.
