Kleberg County is a county located in the state of Texas. Kingsville is the county seat of Kleberg County. Robert J. Kleberg is the reason the county is named this way. He was an early settler of the area. Robert Justin Kleberg was a Prussian settler who emigrated to Texas in 1834 and settled in Cat Spring two years later. Kleberg also fought in the battle of San Jacinto. He died on the twenty-third of October 1888 and was buried near Cuero where he died as well. The county was originally founded in the year 1913.
