The County of Loving, located west of the Texas state, was founded in 1887 and was re-organized in 1931. It is the second-least populous county in the U.S.A. after the state of Hawaii and it only has the town of Mentone under it. The county was named after Oliver Loving, an early settler and cattle rancher in the area. Loving County largely depended on oil and gas production; it doesn’t have farming and manufacturing industries. Despite that, the county features the old Mentone Church which was a former schoolhouse. The county also showcases a variety of restaurants that serves outstanding food from the traditional southern fried chicken and smokehouse barbecues to Spanish and Mexican tacos and tamales.
