The county of Potter, located north of the Texas state, was established in 1876 and organized in 1887. It was named after Robert Potter, one of the signatories in the Texas Declaration of Independence. Potter County is home to the Alibates Flint Quarries National Monument, where you can see rainbow-hued flints that are reflected through the Great Plains. It also features a part of the Lake Meredith National Recreation Area, where you can boat, fish, and enjoy the beautiful scenery of this reservoir. Furthermore, this county also offers a great variety of restaurants that serves outstanding food from barbecues and fries to Thai food, Italian pizzas, and pasta.
