The county of Sabine, located east of the Texas state, was established and organized in 1837. It was named after Sabine River, a stream that borders its eastern region. This county has been economically dependent on its timber, farming, ranching, and tourism industries; timber remains to be its most significant product, but beef cattle, forage, and fruits were its major agricultural crops. It also features interesting historical and recreational sites from the NASA Columbia Museum to the Sabine National Forest. Its county seat holds an annual Boo Bash at Halloween. Moreover, Mexican, Italian, Southwestern, and American cuisines are dominant in this county.
