Blue Owl Brewing specializes in sour beers. That means this is the place to go to in East Austin if you like sour beers. The beers range from “mildly sour to puckering after every sip” sour. Owner Suzy Shaffer says she has had taproom customers “who don’t like beer (and) we’ve been able to convert people (to drinking their beers)”. Co-owner Jeff Young says their “refreshing, light beers” are perfect for Austin’s warm weather. Their taproom opened in 2015. The pastel furniture and décor is a perfect backdrop to the sour beers they serve. They have three year-round products – Little Boss, Spirit Animal, and Professor Black – plus a selection of seasonal offerings. Miiller’s Meat Market & Smokehouse, which is located in Llano, Texas, sells smoked meats (smoked prime rib, smoked hams, smoked turkeys, beef tenderloin, pork tenderloin, summer sausage, jalapeno/cheese summer sausage, smoked peppered bacon, and smoked sausages).
