Review of Double Horn Brewing Co by TexasRealFood
Originally established by two husband-and-wife teams in 2011, Double Horn Brewing Company has been under new ownership since Fall 2016. The brewery continues to take pride in “providing some of the best beer in Central Texas”. The brewery takes its name from a tiny Texas town founded in 1885. It refers to an incident at the nearby creek where the “remains of two bucks with interlocked antlers” were found. Presumably, the deers tussled and died with antlers entangled. The brewery hopes “to capture, preserve, and celebrate the pioneering spirit and inventiveness” of the early Texas communities.
At the time of its opening, the Double Horn was the only brewery in Burnet County. It still is. Despite the change in ownership, they continue to serve both lunch and dinner. Josh Alexander, the new owner, expanded the menu and included takeaway and catering options. Besides their in-house brews, they also have guest beers on rotation.
