Watauga is a city situated in Tarrant County in Texas. The town’s first settlers came to the area where Watauga now is in 1843. The Texas and Pacific Railway was arriving in the area in 1881 which made more people come to the community. The town of Watauga was granted a post office just two years after that. The population started growing since the 1970s and is at its peak as of now with 24,497 residents as of the 2010 census. Watauga is distributed by two different Independent School Districts, Birdville is for the majority of the city’s area and Keller provides the northwest. The town’s total area is 4.2 square miles which makes it very dense with around five thousand and two hundred people per one square mile.
