The US city of Anna is located in Collin County in Texas. It had a population of about 14,243 as at 2018. When the American Civil War ended, railway construction resumed with the laying of track from Corsicana and passing through Anna in 1872. When Anna was being platted in 1883, its population was 20. It had a Baptist church, a steam gristmill, and two stores. That same year saw a post office opened in the area. Later, in 1885, a depot was built in the area by the railroad. By 1890, Anna’s population had grown to 200, leading to its incorporation in 1913.
