Azle is a US city found in two counties — Tarrant and Parker — in Texas. According to the 2010 census, Azle had a population of 10,947. The city received its first settler in 1846 — James Azle Steward, a doctor. Steward settled in a log cabin that a Dutchman called Rumsfeld had built. Later, other settlers joined Steward and settled along local streams such as Walnut Creek, Silver Creek, and Ash Creek. Azle’s first cemetery was established near Ash Creek courtesy of Steward. The town’s post office was established in 1881 with the town taking the name O’bar in honor of the man who brought service to the area.
