The US city of Bangs is situated in Brown County in Texas. It was named after Samuel Bangs, an early founder and publisher of numerous Texas-based newspapers. The City got its first post office in the 1880s even when its population had not hit 100. In 1900, the population got to 136 and by 1915, the number had increased to 600 people. The town, although smaller than many in the region, is quickly growing into a blossoming tourist destination for both local and international travelers. Bang's significant attractions include the Dragon Memorial Stadium, Church of Christ, First United Methodist Church, and the New Testament Holiness Church.
