The US city of Bardwell was named after John W. Bardwell, credited for constructing the first cotton gin in the area. It flourished in the 1920s as a popular shipping point. Apart from the town being a busy shipping point, it had six grocery stores back then that inspired the growth of the city. Most popular places to see here include the Big Mustang Creek Park, Bardwell Lake and the Bluebonnet Park. The Bardwell Lake enables tourists to enjoy fishing in a serene environment while Bluebonnet Park is famous for its lakes and wildflowers that are only typical of the place.
