Initially called Dugansville, The US city of Bells is located in Grayson County in the state of Texas. The city gained access to the outside world courtesy of two railroads — Kansas and Texas Railroad and the Texas and Pacific Railroad, which reached the area in the 1870s. The town was doing well before the Great Depression. It had a population of 600, numerous grocery and general stores, hotels and an assortment of other essential infrastructure. Major landmarks here include the Virginia Point Methodist Church and Train Depot and Interlocking Tower. Some of the popular nearby towns include Dallas, Sherman and Denison.
