The US city of Benavides is located in Duval County in the state of Texas. The city had 1,362 residents as per the 2010 census. Placido Benavides, a serviceman in the Confederate States Army, is the founder of the town. After the war, Benavides established Rancho Palo Alto, which came to be amongst the largest ranches in the entire Duval County. Top spots to see here include the Lake Casa State Park, Hurricane Alley Waterpark, Art Center of Corpus and the Corpus Christi Museum of Science and History. The town also has theatres, cinemas, sporting centers, exhibition centers, restaurants, and recreational facilities.
