Berclair is a US unincorporated community in Goliad County in the state of Texas. Berclair is part of Victoria Texas metro area, Goliad County. The community was founded in 1889 after railroad construction extended into the area. The community's name is a combination of the names ranchers Clair and Bert Lucas, who once lived in the area then. The community was famous for ranches in the 1880s which attracted several settlers to the area. By 1892, the town had more than 20 local businesses and a weekly newspaper. During its population during this time were 350 but is currently projected at 150.
