Bluffton is found in Llano County in the state of Texas in the United States. The place is an unincorporated community on the Texas State Highway Northeast of Llano and on the shores of Lake Buchanan. Despite being unincorporated, this place has a post office. The community's root town submerged under Lake Buchanan. The sinking is a result of flooding after the completion of the Buchanan dam in 1939. Flooding led to the migration of residents to new areas, which made them incur significant losses. In 2011, a severe drought exposed this earlier submerged town as the water levels dropped.
