Boyd is a town located in Wise County in the US state of Texas. The town is part of the Northwest of Dallas- Fort Worth Metroplex. This town in Texas started in the 1890s by settler farmers who centralized this area. This area initially carried the name Greasy Bend regarding the industrial developments. However, in 1893, Chicago, Rock Island and Pacific Railroad reached this town. During this year, the settlement changed the name to ‘Parkhurst’ which referred to an official. As a result, the name then later changed to another rail official, Boyd. So, this change to Boyd aimed at avoiding confusion with close park springs.
