Brady City is located in McCulloh County in Texas. The city often refers to itself as the heart of Texas by virtue of its geographical location. It is at the center of the state, geographically speaking. The Brady community was founded in the 1870s and named Brady City. The name was derived from Brady Creek that runs through the town. Upon its incorporation in in 1906, the city’s name was shortened to Brady. A post office was built in the town in 1876, and the town became McCulloh County’s seat later the same year. Brady grew rather quickly, and by 1877, it had 50 residents.
