Brownsboro City is located in Henderson County, in the US state of Texas. The city’s population was 1,039 as per the 2010 census. This was an increase from the 796 recorded in 2000. Brownsboro’s first settler, John Brown, arrived here in 1849. Brown ran a toll bridge across the Kickapoo Creek. By 1860, Henry Cade erected a cotton gin and a sawmill. When the St. Louis Southwestern Railway was constructed through Henderson County in 1880, Brownsboro moved closer to the railroad. At the time, Normandy town was near where Brownsboro currently stands. Later, the two towns merged to form Brownsboro settlement.
