Bushland is an unincorporated community in Potter County, Texas. Bushland is part of Amarillo. The unincorporated community names after William Henry Bush. Playing a role as a railroad station, Bushland picked shape. Bush got this land from the father in law Joseph Glidden. Joseph Glidden first invented the barbed wire. In 1908, this area wholesomely dedicated by William Bush and the associate S.H. Smiser. In 1909, the first post office opened in Bushland, which led to the opening of a school. Bushland hit the headlines in 2010 after an El Paso Natural operated Gas line malfunctioned causing a massive fire.
