Bynum is a town in the United States, particularly located in Hill County. The town is named after a pioneer settler. Judge J. P. Connell built an establishment in this area together with a post office in 1882. The establishment operated until 1884 under the name Hanover. In 1886 another post office opened under the name Bynum. About 1890, a general store with Henry M. Mucklevane as the owner opened. In 1925, a fire destroyed the business district but was reconstructed the same year. The town is home to Bynum High School Bulldogs. The Bynum Independent School District serves the community.
