Founded on land that had been part of the CV Ranch, the Cee Vee community dates back to 1926. The town was formed through a break-up of the larger Mill Iron Ranch. Initially, the town’s name was CV but was changed to Cee Vee as initials were not approved. Local businesses supplied a large isolated farming area. The Great Depression and World War II caused many to leave Cee Vee. By 1990s, only 20 families remained. The first marked grave was for Eugene Ballard, of which the site was named the site Haven of Rest Cemetery.
