The county seat of Coleman County is located in the central part of the county. With its location on the Western Trail, Coleman boomed as a supply and recreation center for trail drivers. The town is named after Sam Houston’s aide, Robert M Coleman. After the Great Depression, the town became a meat-processing and wool center and a manufacturing center. Coleman has been hosting the Coleman PRCA Rodeo annually. From award winning wines and fine dining, to excellent hunting and fishing opportunities, Coleman offers the perfect blend of rich Texas heritage and modern amenities. In the city park is a replica of Camp Colorado.
