Diana, also known as New Diana, is an unincorporated community in Upshur County. It was established in the 1930s by the residents of Diana, also known as Old Diana, upon the discovery of oil three miles south of the old town. After WWII, the town continued to prosper and by the mid-1960s, residents started referring to the town as just plain Diana. During that time, the town had three or four stores, two churches, and a school. In 1990, Diana became a commercial center for area ranchers and farmers. In the year 2000, the town reported 585 residents, along with fifty-two businesses.
