Edgewood town is located in Van Zandt County in the US state of Texas. According to the 2010 census, Edgewood had a population of 1,441 in the same year. The town’s name was drawn from its location on East Texas timberline’s western edge. This is about 60 miles on the east of Dallas. Between 1840 and 1870s, settlers who had originated from the eastern states founded a community and established a cemetery. They called the place Barren Ridge. A post office was established here in 1850. The town’s second phase and cemetery were established between 1870 and 1890. According to a 2014 estimation, Edgewood’s population is 1,473, with seven churches and 47 businesses.
