Electra is a city in Texas, the US. In 1852, Daniel Waggoner started ranching in this area. In the mid-1880s, Fort Worth and Denver City railway tracks reached Electra. William T. Waggoner set uploading areas. In 1885, William persuaded rail officials to develop a switch. The region acquired the name Waggoner but changed the name to Beaver for Beaver Creek in 1889 after opening a post office. The town got a different name in 1902 in honour of Waggoner's daughter. In 1905, Solomon Williams bought land from Waggoner, forming the Electra Land and Colonization Company. An oil boom in 1911 significantly contributed to the development of this city.
