The US city of Emory is found in Rains County in Texas. It acquired its name from Emory Rains, the area’s then legislator. According to the 2010 census, the city had a population of 1,239. Emory’s total area is about 1.98 square miles, 0.02 of which is covered by water. The city is situated between Lake Fork Reservoir and Lake Tawakoni. It has a well-stocked public library at 150 Doris Briggs Parkway. As the largest city in the county, it sits at the center where State Highway 19 and US Highway 69 intersect. Emory is characterized by a humid subtropical climate, according to Koppen’s Classification System.
