The Eola unincorporated community is found in Concho County in the US state of Texas. The community’s population in 1990 was 218. It was first called Jordan before it was renamed Eola in 1902, after Aeolus, a local creek named after a Greek god of wind. Eola School was the community’s center between 1928 and 1983 when it closed. The story of this community begins when James Mark Cannon relocates here from Portland, Oregon, with one mission — to purchase an abandoned school and turn it into Eola School Restaurant. A post office, with the name Jordan, was established here in 1901.
