The US town of Estelline is situated in Hall County in the state of Texas. It population was 145 in 2010, according to the 2010 census. In 2013, it had declined to 141. The town was ranked top on North America’s “Worst Speed Trap Cities.” The town is also referred to as the “Town of Estelline,” with a “Town Council” and a “Town Hall,” and not just the ordinary “city” label. But the Texas law considers all incorporated municipalities as cities. The town was founded in 1892 by two brothers — Math Wright and Elam Wright. It was named in honor of Estelle de Shields, a pioneer settler’s daughter.
