Falls City is situated in Karnes County in the US state of Texas. Its population as per the 2010 census was 611. The city’s early settlers were mainly Polish Catholics. In 1902, they founded the Holy Trinity Catholic Church. The city’s development can be attributed to the railroad. A post office, which was named Skiles, was opened in the area in 1887 to provide area residents with postal services. In 1893, the post office was moved near the tracks. Here, it merged with Brackenridge to form Falls City, after natural waterfalls nearby. The city’s estimated population was 591 in 2000.
