Flynn was named after Edward J Flynn who was a railroad official and had never set foot in town. It is found in Leon County. The town's unofficial name was "Bugs Scuffle" after a tavern there. The railway was built in 1906. There was once a two-story school and a two-story hotel in Flynn but no evidence of that is present today. It had a lumberyard and a gristmill that indicates the economy back then. Today the population is less than 100. There is one store that seems to be a gathering spot for residents to hang out.
