Georgetown is a city located in Williamson County in Texas. As of the 2010 census, the city’s population was 47,400 citizens, but it has grown to an estimate of 79,604 as of the year 2019. Georgetown is known as the 7th fastest growing city in the U.S. The town was named after George Washington Glasscock who donated the land for the new town. Some Americans and some Sweedish pioneers were attracted by the area. The city is the county seat of Williamson County which was formed on March 13th, 1848. The town’s area is 54.3 square miles according to the U.S Bureau, and the public education system is provided by the Georgetown Independent School District.
