Glen Rose is a city situated in Somervell County in Texas. The city is also the county seat. The population of the city was 2,444 residents as of the 2010 census. The area where the town now sits was first settled by a man named Charles Barnard. The town’s name was voted by citizens to call the community Glen Rose. A post office was established in the town in 1874. Somervell County was founded on March the 15th in 1875, and Glen Rose was chosen as the county seat. The city has a total area of 2.7 square miles according to the U.S Bureau, all of it is land.
