Goodfellow is an Air Force Base situated in the city of San Angelo in Texas. San Angelo is located in Tom Green County and is the county seat. The Air Force Base dates back to the days that occurred before the attack on Pearl Harbor. The name actually comes from 1st Lieutenant John. J. Goodfellow who lived in San Angelo and had a preliminary survey behind the lines at Gonderville Airfield in France. This event happened on 14th the Septemeber in 1918. The remains of the young pilot were recovered from his aircraft and he had a funeral at the St. Mihiel American Cemetery and Memorial in France.
