Graford is a city located in Palo County in Texas. The city was named because of Graham and Weatherford. The town is located right in between them. George R. Brevers is the area’s first settler back in 1854. Brevers settled on Big Keechi Creek. Soon enough, a general store was opened and it was operated by Willis Mills and Ansell Russell. A post office was opened by 1894. The town’s peak population was in the 1940s with an estimate of 800 residents, but it has since then diminished to around 500 in the 1980s and went up to around 600 in recent years.
